Juleah Carl

Juleah Carl is currently serving as an intern this year, working primarily in the media department. When she isn’t hiding behind a laptop in her office or goofing off with friends, she’s most likely chilling in a hammock on the property with a kitten or playing with her camera and finding cool photoshoot hotspots. Her favorite hobby of all time is putting on some headphones and walking around to take in the sights that sweet nature provides, and when asked what her favorite food is, she will never fail to respond with “tacos!”

Juleah is from a small town called Highland in Southern Illinois, and is enrolled at SIUE (Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville) as a Mass Communications major. Her life plans include working in advertising and web design, hopefully for an event planning organization, and from there, segwaying (preferably on an actual segway) into the wedding planning industry. However, at the end of the day, her ultimate goal is to own a coffee shop eventually…hence, her business minor.

She was baptized as a Christian at 11 years old, and ever since then, she’s strived to discover who God is; there’s so much to learn! This upcoming summer, her greatest joy will be teaching the kids as much as she can about the extensive, everlasting love of Christ.

Upon coming to Camp David of the Ozarks in the summer of 2020 as a counselor, she found it ridiculously easy to fall in love with the happy environment and surrounding people who made it so. Each camper had a different story to tell, and they all provided such insight and joy that it felt near impossible to want to leave them. The staff and leadership team also played an important role in her decision to come here as they were all super fun and easy to work with, and after much anticipation and praying, she felt God’s presence stronger than ever giving her a thumbs-up after she was asked to join the team.

Her longing for learning and growing in Christ is something that can be fulfilled here, as well as putting her talents to good use through the organization’s media.

God is good, this campground is beautiful, and Batman is by far the best superhero. Peace out!

“Lord! I’m bursting with joy over what you’ve done for me!

My lips are full of perpetual praise.

I’m boasting of you and all your works,

so let all who are discouraged take heart.

Join me, everyone! Let’s praise the Lord together.

Let’s make him famous!

Let’s make his name glorious to all.” ~ Psalm 34:1-3 (The Passion Translation)
