I want to say a big thank you to all of you who came out and were part of this years’ Banquet for Hope. A special thanks to Lone Oak Buildings for being our lead sponsor for the Banquet. We had around 155 guests. The dinner successfully raised over $15,000 in monthly support, donations, and faith pledges, above the cost of the event. The funds will be used to continue Camp David of the Ozarks’ ministries to families of prisoners in Missouri.
Banquet guests experienced some magic with the Fairytale Characters from Fine Linen Theatre, in capturing photos and enjoying their musical numbers. Our MC, Alison Guzman, kept us informed and laughing as we enjoyed the program. We were blessed and inspired by our Keynote Speaker, Shay Robins, who shared from the story of David. An insignificant overlooked boy (much like our campers) with a heart after his Creator, who was used by God to turn a whole nation back to Almighty. We believe God wants to do the same thing with each of us as we share His heart He has for children of prisoners and the least of these.
The Big Announcement of the evening was the introduction of the Incoming Directors for Camp David of the Ozarks, Josh and Julia Cullom. Josh and Julie have been part of the Camp David ministry in big and small ways since 2011 when they first met at camp. We believe their heart after God, compassion for the kids, and leadership skills will be a blessing to the Camp David ministry for years to come.
Josh and Julia will be moving to Camp David of the Ozarks on February 1, 2020 and will run through a Spring and Summer of camp with Founders Ben and Grace Smith, as the incoming directors. In August of 2020, Josh and Julia will take Executive Leadership of Camp David of the Ozarks and all its’ ministries to families of prisoners in Missouri.
Founders Ben and Grace Smith will take Executive Leadership of Camp David International in it’s role of helping others successfully launch and run camps for children on prisoners here in America and around the world. This will include creating and producing training, summer camp curriculum, and other resources. We are very excited about the impact these two ministries will make for children of prisoners around the world!
We want to say a big thanks to everyone who was part of the Banquet for Hope as guests and sponsors. If you weren’t able to make to the Banquet of Hope but would still like to give toward the banquet goal you can donate below.
