A Mission Experience
Serving at Camp David is much like a missions trip in the rustic Ozarks, but with inner-city youth, many of whom have never heard about Jesus. We wholeheartedly believe you will find it to be life-changing as you are stretched spiritually, emotionally and physically. You will give your all to show campers the love of Christ. Being on the Camp David Team is a fun, rewarding experience that could change your life forever.

Fill out the online application or print it out and send it in. When you fill out your application you will be asked to provide Confidential References. Please provide contact info for three people whom we will contact as a reference before your application will be accepted.

• Professional Reference, ex: teacher or employer
• Relative, not parents, over 21
• Spiritual Mentor, ex: small group leader or pastor

Phone interview. After receiving your application and checking your references, we give you a 20 min. phone interview after which we will let you know if you are accepted. Everything is kept confidential.

Staff Manuals. We plan to send out staff manuals in the spring for you to read. You must read the manual prior to coming to the staff training time.

Staff Training. All volunteer staff must attend staff training. Counselors have two options for training:

May 3-5, 2013  This training starts Friday at 5pm and ends Sunday at 3:30pm

June 2-7, 2013 This training begins at 4:00 pm Sunday, and will end Friday - June 7th, at 4:00 pm.

Our first week of camp begins on June 10th. During staff training you will learn evangelism, first aid, counseling issues, basic camp skills and CDO procedures, plus we do a lot of team building activities.

• Assistant Counselor (16 yrs + or 18 yrs + for Sr camp)
• Green Team Leader (16 yrs +)
• Support Staff (14 yrs +)
• Wrangler (must be 16 yrs +)
• Photographer or Videographer (16 yrs +)
• Office Help* or Graphic Designer (16 yrs+)
• Camp Grandparent/ Auntie/ Uncle (must be 18 yrs+)
• Kitchen Staff* (must be 16 years+)

*These positions can be part-time.

"The KINGDOM Way" 

Jesus said, "I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE." Jesus taught us to pray, "Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." I believe that Jesus' teaching and life were a demonstration of what living the Kingdom Way meant. This summer we will learn how to apply Kingdom Principles to our daily lives. 

Basic Camp Schedule
Each week of volunteer service begins at 4:00pm Sunday evening, and continues through Friday until you are dismissed at 4:00pm. If you are from out of town, there will be provision for you to stay at camp over the weekends. Special permission is needed from the camp director for any times of absence of any staff and should be limited to matters such as a death of a family member (This does not include dentist appointments, concerts, part-time jobs or other activities that a staff member wishes to leave for). Support the Ministry 

You will need to help support the ministry, and there are three options to do this:

A. Donate $100 per week of service towards your meals & lodging. You can write a check to CDO, or donate online. You may even consider doing a fundraiser, or doing extra work just as if you were earning money for a mission trip.

B.Raise support- send out missionary support letters to raise prayer and financial support for your time of service, with a goal of raising $100 per week of service. If you choose this option, you will need to send us an address list of 20 –30 names and addresses of people who you intend to send your support letter to; and understand that the amount of support that you raise from your letters does not affect whether or not you can be on our team. Please email your list to us by May 27th, and then during Staff Training we will provide the paper and postage, coach you in writing your letter, and the office will mail it.

C. Find 2 new people to sponsor a camper for each week you serve (before your time of service). You will be making it possible for the kids to come to camp! Be sure to ask the new sponsors to mark on their sponsor form that they are sponsoring a child on your behalf.

Share Your Testimony

We need some staff members each week during camp to share their testimony (story) of God working in their life. Hearing from each other will really encourage the campers and fellow staff in trusting God more. Please begin praying about what God would have you share, and bring your testimony form to the Staff Training.

Medicines

Please inform the nurse if you are on any medication and keep the medicine in the nurse’s station and be responsible for taking it. The nurse will not hunt you down to give you your meds!
