Kenny is a very confident and supportive member of our team here at Camp David. He sets high goals, then takes strategic steps to achieve them. He came as a IMPACT Intern, and has taken on the role of Staff Ministries Leader. One of his main focuses as Staff Ministries Leader is to help develop leadership qualities in other staff members with Biblical principles. Throughout his day he encourages the people around him by his enthusiastic and outgoing personality, as well as leading by example in his personal Christian life.
Because of Kenny’s past he is able to relate in the brokenness a lot of Camp David campers share. At one point he found himself very broken, confused and incarcerated with a option to change his life around by going through a Christian Discipleship program. Knowing where the streets had led him before, he needed a new life, a new start, and a chance at freedom from the lifestyle he had. After sixteen months of renewing his mind with the Word of God, and being under good mentors, leaders, and Pastors, he found himself wanting to give back to others. With his knowledge of the Bible, servanthood attitude, and love for people he has found a perfect fit here at Camp David!
During his free time he likes to fellowship with other Christians, whether in the gym working out, or on the basketball court playing ball. He is also very involved in Bible studies as well as street evangelism opportunities. If there is a chance to talk about Jesus he is all in! His favorite passage in the Bible is Psalm 126 “When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”
